Overview

In this role you will join the London Planning team as an Asset Economist to optimise feedstock and product disposition across the refinery and trading interface. You will work with refinery and trading colleagues to evaluate economics, operations and logistics, shaping disposition decisions. You will apply linear programming to cargo evaluations, benchmarking, and operating plans, contributing to the full crude-to-customer supply chain. This is an opportunity to influence refinery economics and planning in a fast-paced energy markets environment.

Responsibilities

  • optimise refinery feedstock and product disposition strategies in collaboration with refinery and trading teams
  • evaluate economics, operations and logistics impacts on disposition decisions
  • develop cargo economic evaluations, benchmarks and refinery operating plans using linear programming
  • contribute to the full crude-to-customer supply chain optimisation
  • lead issues to resolution and provide direction/recommendations for timely decisions
  • prioritise multiple tasks within tight timeframes
  • communicate complex issues clearly across mediums

Key requirements

  • Chemical Engineering degree
  • LP model experience preferred but not essential
  • ability to frame and resolve oils planning opportunities
  • strong understanding of refinery economic drivers, constraints and capabilities
  • experience in refinery operations or support role preferred
  • industry knowledge of standards, market drivers, logistics and operations
  • strong analytical skills; proficiency in PIMS preferred; Excel, Word, PowerPoint
