Senior Syndicate Accountant

Overview

In this role you will support accurate syndicate, regulatory, and financial reporting for a Lloyd’s syndicate within a global insurance group. You will work across underwriting, claims, and finance to drive process improvements and strengthen controls. The position blends close GAAP reporting, technical accounting, and audit liaison to ensure reporting excellence. Responsibilities

• Lead general ledger close for Syndicate and related entities (US GAAP and UK GAAP reporting)
• Maintain controls and reconciliations across technical accounts and balance sheet items
• Support interface implementation and collaborate on system improvements
• Partner with Finance teams on analysis, planning, and regulatory reporting
• Liaise with auditors and support audit processes

Key requirements

• Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or working towards
• Deep Lloyd’s market knowledge, Lloyd’s/FCA/PRA reporting experience (including Xchanging, LCA processes)
• Strong attention to detail with excellent communication skills
• Self-motivated team player comfortable working independently and mentoring more junior staff
