Operations Director

Overview

As Project Director you will lead the delivery of HV transmission and major civil projects, ensuring safe, on-time, quality outcomes and financial performance. You’ll standardise project execution, grow the delivery team, and manage key stakeholders and interfaces from bid handover to delivery. The role sits at the heart of Murphy’s mission to innovate in energy projects across multiple countries. You’ll drive improvements to meet financial targets while championing safety and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safe, on-time delivery of project scope to required quality and financially targets
• Set project standards and ensure consistency with policies and procedures
• Lead and develop the project management team and line-manage Project Managers
• Coordinate mobilization and fit-to-start processes for timely delivery
• Ensure formal handover from bid to delivery, with strong handover processes
• Maintain stakeholder relationships and clear communication with clients and other project partners
• Produce and review detailed cost forecasts and align resource plans with the programme
• Support procurement of suppliers and subcontractors
• Lead improvement actions to achieve or exceed financial objectives

Key requirements

• Experience delivering HV transmission projects within 132kV to 400kV or major civil projects
• Experience in a Project Director or Senior Managerial role
• HNC / HND
• Strong commercial and contractual awareness
• Experience on complex multi-discipline enhancement projects with programme and cost controls
• Excellent stakeholder management and client/subcontractor relations
