Overview
In this role, you will support the Type 26 platform commissioning by coordinating electrical set-to-work across propulsion, power generation and shipboard systems. You’ll work with a multidisciplinary team and stakeholders to demonstrate and hand over complex equipment through sea trials. You’ll contribute to safety, testing and documentation, enabling successful naval acceptance. This is a hands-on, career-building position with clear progression within a high-performing team.

Responsibilities
- Electrical set-to-work for all T26 platform equipment (gas turbines, gearboxes, generators, pumps, fans, instrumentation)
- Manage live-system electrical safety through permits and energisation under safe systems of work policies
- Attend ships’ sea trials and demonstrate major machinery to clients and authorities
- Conduct fault finding and technical investigations into design issues
- Prepare test and acceptance documentation for ship platform systems for naval authorities and handover
Key requirements
- HNC in engineering (extensive experience considered)
- Ability to work in a multi-discipline fast-paced environment with good communication
- Complex ships systems fault finding and resolution for set-to-work
- Ability to read and understand technical electrical drawings and manuals for complex equipment
- STEM qualifications; working towards Incorporated or Chartered status with support for accreditation
