Asset Experience Services – Deputy Team Lead

Overview

As Deputy Team Lead in the Asset Experience Services team for Royal London, you guide technical specialists while delivering hands-on support in data management, lease administration, financial tracking, and service charge operations. You act as the technical expert and escalation point, ensuring accurate outputs and high-quality occupier service across the portfolio. You partner with Asset Experience Managers to drive service excellence and operational efficiency, balancing leadership with practical delivery. This role offers impact through improving processes, data integrity, and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Provide line management and development support to technical specialists
• Act as deputy Team Lead during absences and coordinate leadership duties
• Serve as technical lead for complex lease interpretation, service charge challenges, and data accuracy issues
• Foster knowledge sharing and best-practice adoption within the team
• Monitor and ensure quality of data accuracy, lease administration, financial tracking, and service charge calculations
• Support problem-solving, quality control, and professional development for team members
• Coordinate resource allocation and workload to maintain balanced capacity and timely delivery
• Refer to RL JD Asset Experience Central Service – Technical team member for additional duties

Key requirements

• Proven experience in property management, lease administration, service charge management, and financial support functions
• Expert knowledge of RICS Professional Standards for Commercial Service Charges and lease interpretation
• Strong understanding of commercial property documentation, terminology, and legal frameworks
• Experience with property management software platforms (Yardi, Prism) and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Experience in leading, mentoring, or coaching surveying professionals
• Ability to interpret complex lease covenants, service charge provisions, and occupier applications
• Knowledge of property transactions, due diligence, and transitions management
• Data analysis and reporting capabilities with strong attention to detail
• Familiarity with filing systems, document management, and quality control processes
