Overview

In this role you will lead a £20m new-build social housing project in London for a Housing Association, working within a respected main contractor. You’ll steer the delivery team from construction through to handover, coordinating residential, commercial and mixed-use elements. You will manage scope, risks, costs and schedule while maintaining client and partner relationships. This is a hands-on opportunity to shape quality delivery on a major urban development.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the project
• Lead and manage the project team across site management, commercial and engineering functions
• Manage the programme to meet milestones and completion dates
• Coordinate construction activities across residential, commercial and mixed-use elements
• Manage subcontractors, consultants and key stakeholders
• Maintain strong client, Housing Association, consultant and partner relationships
• Monitor performance, costs, programme, quality and resources
• Manage risks, change and commercial considerations
• Ensure construction aligns with drawings, specs and standards
• Lead progress, design, commercial and client meetings
• Oversee quality, health & safety, commissioning, snagging and handover
• Provide leadership to maintain high delivery standards

Key requirements

• Degree qualified in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related discipline
• Proven experience as a Project Manager with a main contractor
• Experience delivering major new build projects, ideally 15m+ value
• Residential experience including apartments and/or social housing
• Experience with traditional build and steel frame construction
• Strong understanding of programme, commercial management, and project delivery
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage subcontractors
• Excellent client-facing, communication and leadership skills
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
