Overview
As a Senior Process Engineer you lead process design for water and wastewater infrastructure across design, construction and handover, guiding teams and assuring technical quality. You’ll work in multi-disciplinary project teams to deliver practical, safe, and cost-aware solutions while proactively identifying process risks and opportunities. The role offers development, leadership, and the chance to advance toward chartership within a supportive, collaborative environment that values innovation and client outcomes. You’ll be helping to shape efficient, whole-life projects for Northumbrian Water and other clients.

Responsibilities
- Lead development of process design deliverables (process models, mass balances, control philosophies)
- Provide technical assurance on process designs and ensure compliance with standards
- Identify innovation opportunities to meet whole-life cost and net-zero drivers
- Collaborate with commercial, operational and construction teams for practical solutions
- Engage with clients and support a one-team approach to client aims
- Develop and mentor process engineers, guiding project staffing and development
Key requirements
- Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering or related field
- Chartered or incorporated member of a professional institution or equivalent experience
- Effective communication with team members and stakeholders
- Methodical problem-solving approach
- Valid driving license and willingness to travel across operational region
