Senior MEP Design Manager

Overview

As Senior Design Manager, you will lead the technical delivery and coordination of complex MEP designs for building and infrastructure projects. You’ll align design activities with milestones, procurement, and construction sequencing, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance. You work across mechanical, electrical, public health, and specialist streams to maintain design continuity in digitally enabled environments (BIM/Revit). This role offers impactful work shaping integrated systems and coordinating diverse teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Define and manage design programmes across multiple complex projects aligned with milestones and construction sequencing.
• Develop design deliverable matrices (drawings, calculations, specs, BIM models, coordination outputs).
• Establish clear design communication protocols among MEP streams and specialists.
• Provide technical oversight of Lead Consultant outputs and ensure contractual alignment.
• Chair multidisciplinary design team meetings to resolve issues and maintain design continuity.
• Set up client technical approval workflows with stage-gate requirements and traceability.
• Develop QA/QC protocols, including design reviews, interdisciplinary checks, and sign-off procedures.
• Position design teams for success from project outset by defining roles, scope, standards, and early risk identification.
