Senior Production Manager

Overview

In this role you will support the Traincare Centre Manager to ensure the Maintenance Daily Plan runs efficiently for all customers. You will oversee resource planning, manage production overtime, and keep costs within budget while driving operational excellence. You will lead a disciplined, safety-focused environment and push continuous improvements to meet high standards. Responsibilities

• Direct Production Managers to optimise staff and resources to meet contracts and targets
• Review daily production plans to maximise efficiency and effectiveness
• Maintain strong industrial relations and address serious staff irregularities
• Identify improvement opportunities from incident reports and complaints and drive actions
• Assist in manpower forecasting and production budgeting, and control costs
• Conduct technical, quality, safety and general briefings as required
• Plan and manage leave entitlement within guidelines to support the Business Plan
• Promote continual professional development for staff
• Ensure contractors meet business requirements through audits
• Lead organisational change to optimise working practices and productivity

Key requirements

• Relevant technical or engineering qualifications or equivalent
• Experience in a production, maintenance, or operational environment (rail/transport preferred)
• Proven track record of managing maintenance schedules and resources effectively
