Overview

As a Quality Engineer in defence-focused programmes, you ensure quality across the product lifecycle—from design to post-production support. You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain to meet contractual and regulatory requirements, driving continuous improvement and quality excellence. The role involves handling non-conformances, RCCA/CAPA, and quality documentation while supporting design reviews and supplier quality. You’ll work on high-profile programmes and may undertake extended away-from-site assignments. This is a hands-on role in a regulated, technical environment with meaningful impact on product quality and program success.

Responsibilities

  • Be the primary point of contact for quality matters on assigned projects
  • Ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory and internal quality requirements
  • Lead and manage non-conformance investigations from initiation to closure
  • Facilitate RCCA and ensure effective CAPA implementation
  • Review and approve quality documentation for customer and industry standards
  • Participate in design reviews offering QA guidance
  • Support supplier quality activities and improvement initiatives
  • Conduct product and process audits as required
  • Analyze quality data to identify trends and drive improvements
  • Support bids and proposals by advising on quality requirements and risk mitigation

Key requirements

  • Proven experience in quality engineering within manufacturing, engineering or defence environments
  • Strong experience with Root Cause Analysis and CAPA/RCCA
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems and QA processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to own issues and drive them to resolution
