As Principal Electrical Engineer in Ramboll’s UK Healthcare team, you will lead electrical engineering design and advisory for complex hospital projects, shaping resilient, low-carbon strategies. You’ll blend hands-on design with client engagement and cross‑disciplinary collaboration to deliver digital, high‑quality outcomes. Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical leadership for electrical building services from concept through to handover
• Mentor and coordinate the electrical team and collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues
• Develop and oversee electrical design concepts, calculations, specifications and drawings to meet UK healthcare standards
• Lead digital delivery and MEP coordination using Revit (BIM 360) and industry tools (MagiCad, Dialux, IES, Trimble)
• Act as a client-facing technical lead: present solutions, chair workshops, maintain client relationships
• Manage project scope, resources, and delivery, identifying and mitigating technical and commercial risks
• Embed sustainability, resilience and quality assurance across projects
• Contribute to proposals, technical thought leadership and external stakeholder engagement

Key requirements

• Proven track record delivering electrical building services on UK healthcare or high‑resilience/complex schemes
• Experience in technical or project leadership with mentoring and collaborative culture
• Degree (or equivalent) in electrical, building services or related engineering discipline
• Eligibility for or progress towards MCIBSE, MIET or MIHEEM; chartership support available
• Strong digital design delivery with Revit/BIM 360 and familiarity with MagiCad, Dialux, IES, Trimble
• Excellent project management skills with ability to manage multiple workstreams and mitigate risks
• Clear communicator able to explain complex concepts to clients and teams
• Self-starter who can work autonomously while building client relationships
