Overview
As a key member of Interactive Brokers’ Global Tax Team, you will design and manage customer tax statements and withholding tax frameworks for European retail clients. You’ll translate complex cross-border tax rules into scalable processes and clear customer communications, collaborating with tech, product, and operations to automate tax reporting. Your work helps minimize tax costs while ensuring compliant, accurate reporting across multiple European jurisdictions. This role offers impact in shaping European tax processes and technology-enabled solutions within a global, client-focused brokerage.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain customer tax statements for European retail clients across stocks, bonds, funds, ETFs, derivatives, and more
- Ensure statements comply with local tax reporting formats across European jurisdictions
- Validate tax calculations (capital gains, dividends, interest, withholding, reclaim data) for accuracy
- Collaborate with Technology to implement and improve automated tax statement generation
- Create customer-facing guidance on tax statements and reporting obligations
- Analyze new/existing products and venues for European tax implications and reporting needs
- Draft functional requirements for information reporting and withholding tax features to software teams
- Develop and maintain tax calculation methodologies for complex products and cross-border transactions
- Monitor changes to European tax laws affecting reporting, withholding, and tax statements
- Identify system improvements to automate tax documentation, reporting, and statements
- Develop SOPs for information reporting, withholding tax operations, and statement preparation
- Support research and integration of new tax technologies and participate in special tax projects
Key requirements
- 8–10 years in tax with emphasis on customer impact from investment activities
- Bachelor in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field; CTA/ADIT or equivalent strongly preferred
- Robust knowledge of European information reporting and withholding tax requirements across major jurisdictions
- Deep understanding of tax treatment for equities, bonds, funds, derivatives, FX, and corporate actions
- Strong capital gains, dividend, interest, and withholding tax knowledge in Europe
- Experience drafting functional requirements for tax technology systems
- Excellent attention to detail, analytics, and problem-solving
- Excel proficiency and ability to handle large datasets
- Strong written and verbal communication to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proven collaboration with technology teams to translate tax needs into system specs
