Senior Contracts Manager, Commercial (EMEA)

Overview

In this Senior Contracts Manager, Commercial (EMEA) role you will manage a varied pipeline of customer agreements, from routine to complex negotiations, ensuring deals progress while protecting GitLab’s interests. You’ll collaborate with sales and internal teams to provide guidance and move contracting work across the deal cycle. The role blends day-to-day contracting with strategic enterprise initiatives across the EMEA region. You’ll contribute to scalable playbooks and processes that improve consistency and efficiency. This is a hands-on position with a meaningful impact on revenue and risk management, supported by a collaborative Legal team.

Responsibilities

• Manage a pipeline of commercial agreements across varying levels of complexity
• Draft and review subscription agreements, AI terms, regulatory annexes, services agreements, NDAs, and related documents
• Negotiate terms with customers to enable deals while protecting GitLab’s interests
• Provide clear guidance on contracting questions to sales and internal stakeholders
• Assess contractual risk and translate legal issues into actionable business options
• Support sales enablement with practical guidance on contract terms
• Maintain and improve playbooks, templates, and process documentation for scalable contracting practices

Key requirements

• Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts in software/technology
• Knowledge of technology-related agreements with regulatory or licensing considerations
• Ability to balance business goals with legal risk using practical solutions
• Ability to explain contractual concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders
• Experience across geographies and time zones with awareness of global contracting norms
• Familiarity with Google Workspace and contract lifecycle management tools; Ironclad experience is a plus
• Interest in AI tools and their use in legal/commercial workflows
• Fluency in English; French is a distinct advantage
• Transferable experience from remote/asynchronous environments; legal degree or equivalent practical experience
• Based in the UK or Ireland
