Responsibilities
- Lead engagements in line with firm methodologies, standards, and regulatory requirements for financial services clients
- Build and nurture client relationships and provide professional, value-driven guidance
- Lead and coach multi-location audit teams, and manage performance and development
- Provide coaching to junior staff and address learning needs
- Stay updated on market trends to enhance audit quality and solutions
- Leverage industry knowledge to improve relevance and impact of audit services
- Serve as a high-profile point of escalation for complex issues and drive credible resolutions
- Plan, lead, and deliver major external audit and assurance engagements in a senior managerial capacity
- Demonstrate adaptability and strong communication in a fast-paced environment
- Apply UK GAAP and IFRS knowledge to audits and related assurance engagements
- Experience managing other assurance engagements such as client assets and safeguarding audits
Key requirements
- Fully qualified as a chartered accountant (e.g., ACA / ACCA / CA / ICAS / ICAEW or international equivalent)
- Experience planning, leading, and delivering multiple major external audit and assurance engagements in a senior managerial capacity
- Excellent technical expertise with financial services sector knowledge
- Experience in managing other assurance engagements (e.g., client assets and safeguarding audits)
- Previous professional experience at Manager level or equivalent
- Knowledge of current market issues in the UK and experience applying UK GAAP and IFRS
