Credit Controller – Commercial Finance

Overview

As a Credit Controller, you will manage a portfolio of business clients, overseeing day-to-day ledgers and reconciliations. You will chase debts, verify amounts, and arrange repayment plans while maintaining client files and providing regular updates to clients and internal managers. You’ll handle queries, decide on potential legal action where appropriate, and adapt to varying workloads. This role offers the chance to refine credit control processes within a client-focused environment and contribute to timely cash collection.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of business clients and their ledgers
• Chase outstanding debts by phone, email, and letter in line with schedules
• Verify debts within the system and agree repayment plans where appropriate
• Identify accounts suitable for legal action
• Handle customer queries and annotate invoices as required
• Trace customer collections within the system
• Set up and maintain client files for credit control
• Provide regular updates to clients, client manager, and client executive
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and escalate issues as needed

Key requirements

• 1 year of credit control experience
• preferably in Banking/Commercial Finance, but other industries considered
• basic word and Excel skills
