Senior Wastewater Modeller

Overview

As a Senior Wastewater Hydraulic Modeller at AECOM, you apply hydraulic modelling to support water-related projects across the UK and beyond. You’ll work within the Water Team to develop integrated models and deliver flood risk and pollution mitigation solutions. Your work blends technical modelling with collaboration across disciplines to produce robust, guideline-compliant outcomes. You’ll help shape industry standards through innovative methods while mentoring others and communicating findings clearly. This role offers impactful work on blue-green infrastructure and significant flood alleviation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Build and verify hydraulic models of sewer networks
• Develop integrated model approaches and assist with project scoping and flow surveys
• Create catchment-scale solutions for flooding and pollution risks
• Drive technical innovation and apply new modelling technologies
• Prepare technical reports and clear presentations of modelling results
• Mentor teammates and nurture client relationships
• Check hydraulic models, calculations, and reports for quality and compliance

Key requirements

• Bachelor in Environmental Science (or related field)
• Experience in Hydraulic Modelling and GIS or Data Analysis (ArcGIS or MapInfo)
• Knowledge of Hydraulic Modelling or Asset management (Innovyze ICM or InfoAsset)
• Proven experience in water consultancy
• Autonomous work style with commitment and ability to meet deadlines
