Responsibilities
- Serve as process lead, discipline technical authority, or senior reviewer on projects from concept to FEED, detailed engineering, commissioning, and start-up
- Provide technical knowledge and leadership to design, execute and validate all process engineering deliverables
- Own the process engineering scope for the project, ensuring schedule and quality requirements are met
- Ensure process design complies with regulatory requirements and client/standards
- Coordinate with project managers, client representatives and multidisciplinary teams to ensure accurate incorporation of process requirements
- Provide discipline leadership through technical checking, independent reviews, mentoring, scope definition, estimate support, schedule input, quality management, and continuous improvement
- Develop and review process simulations using HYSYS; produce PFDs/P&IDs; generate hydraulic analysis and study reports
- Participate in PHAs (HAZIDs, HAZOPs, LOPAs) and critical safety reviews
Key requirements
- 15–20 years of progressive process engineering experience, EPC background
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent; P.Eng. with APEGA is required
- Advanced working knowledge of Aspen HYSYS; familiarity with HYSYS Dynamics, Aspen Plus, Aspen Flare Analyzer, ProMax, and related tools is a plus
- Strong experience with PFDs, PD&Is, line designation, heat and material balance, and instrument datasheets
- Knowledge of API, ASME, AER directives and other design codes
- Excellent oral and written communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to read piping isometrics and piping plans
- In-office presence required; field exposure may occur
