Overview

In this Senior Bid Writer role, you will craft and coordinate high-quality bid submissions for a civil engineering and infrastructure contractor. You’ll work closely with operations, commercial, technical, and pre-construction teams to ensure responsive, compliant tenders that win work, while progressively taking on bid management elements. The position sits in a London-based team and offers a pathway to manage whole tenders. You contribute to a growing project pipeline with a focus on commercial and technical clarity.

Responsibilities

  • Write, edit and coordinate PQQs, SQs and tender submissions
  • Develop tailored responses that demonstrate capability and added value
  • Collaborate with operations, commercial, technical and pre-construction teams to assemble bid content
  • Ensure submissions meet tender requirements and client expectations
  • Support win themes, executive summaries and bid strategy development
  • Own sections of bids with potential to manage complete tenders
  • Assist bid planning, timelines and submission schedules
  • Coordinate input from multiple internal stakeholders to meet deadlines
  • Contribute to lessons learned and bid process improvements
  • Build relationships with internal stakeholders and understand the company’s technical and commercial offering

Key requirements

  • Proven bid writing experience in construction, civil engineering, infrastructure or related environment
  • Strong written communication and editing skills to translate complex technical info into clear content
  • Experience on competitive tenders, PQQs and/or frameworks
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to work with senior teams
  • Proactive, independent and collaborative work style
  • Interest in developing bid management skills and broader tender process ownership
  • Experience in civil engineering, highways, rail, utilities, defence, nuclear or major infrastructure is advantageous
