Overview
As Principal Process Engineer within Stantec’s Energy & Resources team, you will lead cross‑functional engineering efforts to deliver sustainable, safe and efficient process solutions. You’ll guide multidisciplinary teams, drive digital delivery and process modelling, and ensure projects meet value, risk and budget expectations. You’ll work with clients on‑site and remotely to align technical direction with business goals. This role offers impact across energy transition projects, from waste-to-energy to hydrogen and biogas initiatives, helping communities build a lower‑carbon future.

Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary project teams
- Lead digital delivery strategies including process modelling, mass balances and P&IDs
- Utilise software tools to develop effective solutions and ensure project success
- Manage project scope, risk, budgets and team performance
- Mentor and coach process engineers for professional growth
- Support safe design practices and contribute to continuous HSE improvement
- Collaborate with clients on-site and remotely to ensure delivery alignment
- Shape project direction and drive technical excellence to create client value
Key requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or related discipline; experience in energy, water or process industries
- Membership of a relevant engineering institution (e.g., IChemE)
- Strong technical leadership across multidisciplinary projects
- Experience managing people, tasks, budgets, scope and risk
