Overview

In this role you own financial reporting and monitoring across multiple entities, applying deep technical accounting knowledge to deliver high-quality analysis of assets and liabilities. You will work with a global Controllers team to support regulatory and financial reporting obligations, capital and liquidity decisions, and management inquiries. The role combines hands-on reporting with process improvement and cross-team collaboration in a challenging, regulated environment. You will partner with diverse stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely disclosures and drive automation of end-to-end reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare daily P&L for trading desks and reconcile front office systems with general ledger
  • Produce and review P&L attribution and commentary for trading, investing and new issuance businesses
  • Lead strategic initiatives to improve processes and workflows
  • Review trading activity for portfolio valuation and highlight material issues to management
  • Conduct monthly price verification and assess less observable inputs
  • Prepare, analyze and present financial reporting under US GAAP and IFRS to senior management and external auditors
  • Take ownership of secured funding tax and reporting requirements as SME
  • Monitor regulatory developments and identify practical solutions (e.g., NSFR)
  • Drive end-to-end reporting automation projects
  • Coordinate with Funding, Product Control, Global Controllers, Corporate Treasury, Risk, Engineering and Tax across the firm
  • Seek opportunities to improve workflows, reporting integrity and technology
  • Engage in cross-divisional projects and initiatives

Key requirements

  • ACA or equivalent (e.g. CFA)
  • Technical accounting knowledge in current area of expertise
  • Experience in preparation of audited financial statements under US GAAP or IFRS (advantageous)
  • Track record of improving processes and adding value to clients/stakeholders
  • Knowledge of FAS 133, AFS and HTM accounting (beneficial)
  • Knowledge of Hedge accounting (beneficial)
  • Strong analytical ability and problem solving
  • Functional expertise and market awareness
  • Strong technical accounting skills with attention to detail
