Overview

In this role you will join the Employment & Immigration team in Cardiff to advise employers and individuals on complex employment matters. You’ll handle tribunal litigation and sensitive investigations, while supporting high-profile disputes and mentoring junior colleagues. The role emphasizes cross-department collaboration and building strong client relationships, with a hybrid Cardiff/London travel element. You’ll contribute to a leading Welsh practice known for handling diverse, high-profile work.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day employment law advice to employers and individuals
  • Represent clients in employment tribunal litigation, including complex disputes
  • Support high-profile investigations as part of the Business Crime Investigations Unit
  • Advise on board-level disputes and whistleblowing claims
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships across sectors
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to deliver integrated legal solutions
  • Mentor and support junior team members
  • Travel regularly to Cardiff and occasionally to London for meetings and collaboration

Key requirements

  • Minimum 3 years PQE in employment law
  • Strong experience in contentious employment matters and tribunal litigation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Commercial awareness and technical competence
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work independently
  • Interest in mentoring and line management
  • Welsh language skills (written and verbal) desirable
