Overview
In this role you will join a respected Welsh firm’s employment team in Cardiff to handle a broad mix of contentious and non-contentious matters. You will advise employers, senior executives and employees, running a varied caseload and, where appropriate, tribunals from start to finish. The role offers autonomy, client contact and opportunities to contribute to high-quality, strategic employment work within a collaborative culture. Responsibilities
- Manage Employment Tribunal litigation from instruction to conclusion
- Draft pleadings, handle disclosure, prepare witness statements, support advocacy at preliminary hearings
- Advise on discrimination, whistleblowing, unfair/constructive dismissal, equal pay, breach of contract and redundancy disputes; provide risk and dispute-management guidance
- Draft and negotiate employment contracts, policies, and handbooks; advise on disciplinary, grievance, performance and capability processes
- Support restructuring, redundancy exercises; advise on TUPE and due diligence in corporate transactions
- Conduct or assist with internal investigations; provide clear, commercial advice to business owners, HR teams and senior management
Key requirements
- Qualified Solicitor with 5-8 years’ PQE in employment law
- Strong experience across both contentious and non-contentious matters
- Confident managing a busy caseload with minimal supervision
- Excellent drafting skills and strong technical knowledge of UK employment law
- Strong communication skills and ability to build trusted client relationships
