Overview

In this role you will inspect, diagnose, repair, maintain and test AV and LED display equipment in Creative Technology’s rental inventory. You work closely with Operations and Technical teams to ensure equipment meets high safety and performance standards and is ready for deployment. You handle fault finding, component repairs, firmware updates, PMs and PAT testing, while documenting certifications. You contribute to reliability improvements and field support to sustain project-ready gear. This is a hands-on, cross-functional opportunity in a dynamic AV environment.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose faults and perform electrical and mechanical repairs on LED displays and AV gear
  • Conduct board level repairs, soldering and hot air rework
  • Maintain power distribution systems including 400V three-phase
  • Carry out preventative maintenance and testing to minimise downtime
  • Perform firmware updates, calibration and performance testing
  • Undertake mechanical fabrication/modifications using workshop tools
  • Support failure analysis to improve reliability
  • Manage PAT testing and compliance with safety standards
  • Ensure repairs pass quality requirements and maintain audit-ready records
  • Assist with field repairs and technical troubleshooting on site
  • Assist in stock control and procurement of spare parts
  • Maintain repair and inventory records in management systems
  • Track returns to manufacturers and document warranty repair activity
  • Provide reporting on faults, trends and equipment performance
  • Build relationships across departments and liaise with suppliers for parts
  • Continuously develop knowledge of AV technologies and safety practices
  • Promote safe working practices and ISO standards compliance
  • Support sustainability by proper disposal and recycling of components
  • Participate in training and knowledge sharing

Key requirements

  • Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Experience with three-phase power systems (desirable)
  • Soldering and PCB fault tracing competence
  • Solid understanding of electrical safety standards
  • Ability to read technical drawings and schematics
  • Good IT skills including service/asset management systems
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation abilities
  • Flexible and responsive to operational demands
  • BS7909 certified (desirable)
  • Experience with PAT testing and safety compliance (nice to have)
