Overview

In this Electrical Engineer (Cable Routing) role, you will structure and manage the flow of electrical and instrumentation cables for a major Nuclear Project in Bristol. You will work closely with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, compliant routing that aligns with system architecture. The position offers hands-on experience in high-integrity engineering environments with tangible impact. You will contribute to documentation and handover activities to support routed cabling systems. Responsibilities

  • Design and implement cable routing structures for power, I&C, and other electrical systems
  • Interpret layout and electrical diagrams to ensure accurate routing from origin to endpoint
  • Support the layout and integration of cable trays, ducts, and penetrations across facilities
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to align routing with system architecture and site requirements
  • Perform basic checks for separation, bundling, and interconnectivity to ensure safety and technical compliance
  • Contribute to documentation and handover preparation for routed cabling systems

Key requirements

  • 2–12 years of experience in electrical engineering or related field
  • Understanding of cable types including power, control, and I&C cables
  • Interest in regulated, technical environments such as energy or infrastructure
  • Familiarity with routing tools, schematics, and layout coordination is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to learn from experienced engineers
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience
