Overview

In this role, you will manage end-to-end Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) and other data rights requests to ensure compliance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act. You’ll collaborate with Operations, Product, Engineering and Complaints to locate, review and respond to data requests within statutory deadlines. This position offers the chance to improve DSAR processes while maintaining high standards of privacy and auditability. You’ll operate in a fast-paced, regulated environment and contribute to maintaining customer trust through precise, clear communications and rights fulfilment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of DSARs and data rights requests from receipt to closure
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to locate and extract relevant customer data
  • Review and redact data to protect third-party information and apply exemptions
  • Maintain accurate records of requests, decisions, and rationale for auditability
  • Communicate status and outcomes to customers in clear language
  • Escalate complex or high-risk requests to Data Protection Officer or Legal
  • Identify process improvements and contribute to DSAR tooling and procedures
  • Stay up-to-date with UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018 and ICO guidance
  • Champion use of AI tools to improve DSAR efficiency and accuracy
  • Adapt to fluctuating volumes while maintaining compliance

Key requirements

  • Experience handling data rights requests in a regulated environment
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage high-volume caseloads
  • Excellent attention to detail with redaction of sensitive data
  • Ability to work across multiple internal systems to locate data
  • Clear written communication to explain data rights to customers
  • Sound judgement in applying exemptions and escalating when needed
  • Ability to identify and implement process improvements
  • Knowledge of UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018 and ICO guidance (preferred)
  • Experience with redaction tools and case management systems (preferred)
  • Understanding of financial services data sensitivity (preferred)
