Senior Aero Design Engineer MRE

Overview

As a Gas Turbine Engine Design Engineer, you will review and disposition non-conforming materials and deviations, working with OEMs and the supply base to ensure safe, compliant part usage. You will support Aftermarket MRO, mentor others, and contribute to quality and design reviews. The role includes opportunities to lead training, refine standards, and contribute to business growth. You will collaborate with Design Authority and regulatory bodies to deliver robust, technically sound solutions in aero/marine/industrial power gas turbines.

Responsibilities

• Review and disposition Non-Conforming Material, Deviation Requests and Waivers from OEM and supply base for Aftermarket MRO.
• Assess fit, form, function, interchangeability, health, safety, use, weight and appearance based on technical information; interact with Design Authority as needed.
• Determine/review part repair requirements or usage parameters.
• Maintain and obtain/hold Certified MRE status; participate in certification training.
• Conduct design/support activities; provide technical reviews/audits; lead certification training and mentoring; refine quality standard work/checklists.
• Support business growth through daily work and interactions.

Key requirements

• BSAE/BSME (required)
• 7+ years (min. for Partial Engine Cert) / 15+ years (min. for Full Engine Cert) of Gas Turbine Engine component design experience
• MRB and/or Non-Conformance evaluation experience
• Engineering Signatory responsibilities (noteworthy)
• Engineering Trainer Level responsibilities (noteworthy)
• Quality Engineering experience / conveyable knowledge
• Other Quality Certifications (noteworthy)
• Component level aero/marine/industrial power gas turbine design experience
• Reading/interpretation of drawings and GD&T
• Reviewing engineering assessments, tolerance stacks, changes/deviations, repairs
• Quality requirements application and inspection data interpretation
• CAB activities; RC-CA involvement
• MRP systems interaction (Oracle/SAP/CAPP/Solumina)
• Training/Developing/Mentoring engineers
