Senior Commercial Manager – Rail London

Overview

Senior Commercial Manager sought to lead commercial operations on major rail infrastructure schemes in London and the South East. You will support project teams, manage financial functions from cost control to forecasting, and liaise with clients and stakeholders. The role sits under the Commercial Lead for rail within multi-project frameworks, offering exposure to high-value rail/civil engineering work. You will shape commercial outcomes across projects worth 30m–100m, delivering value through robust change control and contract management.

Responsibilities

• Act as Commercial Lead for the rail framework
• Provide support and advice to commercial and project management teams
• Manage financial functions including cost management and forecast to completion
• Oversee CV systems and financial reporting
• Liaise with client and stakeholders on commercial matters
• Manage change control processes

Key requirements

• Degree qualified
• Ideally RICS or ICES member
• Experience with NEC contracts
• Senior commercial leadership in Rail/Civil Engineering
• Strong rail sector awareness with direct project experience
• Demonstrated claims production, negotiation and adjudication knowledge
• Extensive experience in contract analysis and risk management
