Senior Service Consultant

Overview

In this role you will bring SME-level expertise to QinetiQ’s full-service portfolio, leading and contributing to Bid and Pre Bid activities. You’ll design and deliver service integration, support, and management models across the full-service lifecycle, working with government stakeholders, MoD, and delivery partners. You will independently resolve complex issues and ensure solutions align with established policies and standards. This is an opportunity to influence high‑impact bid submissions, shape compliant service inputs, and help deliver operationally sound outcomes for defence projects.

Responsibilities

• Act as SME to support bid responses and proposals, identify customer requirements, and define suitable support models with cost estimates
• Operate autonomously to resolve complex issues with minimal direction
• Ensure proposed solutions align with Service and Technical Operations policies, standards, and processes
• Influence stakeholders across levels to achieve alignment and positive outcomes
• Collaborate with Service Design and Transition, Service Operations, and Technical Operations to develop and approve service design packages
• Apply MoD bid process knowledge to shape compliant service inputs into MoD submissions and documentation
• Engage directly with MoD and government stakeholders and delivery partners to support compliant solutions

Key requirements

• Significant experience in Service Design, Service Architecture, and Service Development in large, complex organisations
• Experience contributing to or leading Bid and Pre Bid activities with high-quality service inputs and costed responses
• Proven background in MoD or government environments with governance and operational constraint awareness
• Experience shaping MoD bid submissions and producing compliant service documentation
• Strong track record of influencing senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams
• Experience producing service artefacts such as service models, integration diagrams, and high-level plans
• ITIL 4 Managing Professional or equivalent advanced ITIL certification
• SAFe certification or equivalent experience
