Overview
In this role you will handle a demanding clinical negligence caseload within a long-established regional firm on the South Coast. You will work with senior solicitors to manage complex, life-changing claims from investigation through to settlement or trial. You will collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to provide wraparound support for clients during difficult times. Responsibilities
- Run your own caseload of complex clinical negligence claims with supervision from senior solicitors and partners
- Conduct initial investigations and medical records analysis
- Instruct and manage medical experts and other professional witnesses
- Draft pleadings and negotiate settlements; prepare for trial when needed
- Coordinate with personal injury, healthcare regulatory, and court of protection teams to provide wraparound client support
- Maintain direct client contact and guide clients through lengthy, emotionally challenging processes
Key requirements
- 6+ years’ PQE in clinical negligence
- Experience across serious injury claims (birth, brain, spinal, misdiagnosis, surgical errors, fatal accidents)
- Strong understanding of medical evidence and expert witnesses
- Ability to manage a substantial, sensitive caseload independently
- Calm, compassionate, professional communication with clients
