Overview

In this SEND Teaching Assistant role, you support children with complex needs across specialist settings in Sheffield, Rotherham and Barnsley. You provide personal care and moving and handling, while fostering communication, independence and wellbeing. You collaborate with teachers, therapists and other professionals to create a positive learning environment and celebrate every achievement. The role offers diverse placement options and opportunities for professional training to enhance your SEND impact.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with complex learning needs, including autism, PMLD and physical disabilities
• Assist with personal care, maintaining dignity and respect
• Apply moving and handling techniques safely and confidently
• Encourage communication, independence and emotional wellbeing
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists and other professionals
• Help pupils participate in classroom activities and celebrate achievements
