Principal Solutions Consultant – AI

Overview

In this role you shape Workiva’s AI strategy with senior clients, articulating how our governed platform enables trustworthy, production-ready AI outputs across finance, risk, and sustainability. You engage C-level and IT stakeholders to map AI programs to our API-first, trusted data fabric, guiding architecture decisions and governance. You’ll create reusable IP, drive cross-functional discovery, and represent Workiva publicly to advance our AI posture. This is a high-impact, technical leadership role that blends deep expertise with executive presence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the AI technical agenda across pursuits from engagement to close
• Develop reusable IP, patterns, and design guidance; mentor others
• Drive technical discovery with Finance, GRC, Sustainability and IT/Security teams
• Prepare high-impact demonstrations and reference architectures showing API-first integration
• Share field insights to influence product direction and AI roadmap
• Represent Workiva in industry events and executive briefings as a public technical voice

Key requirements

• 10+ years of technical, customer-facing experience in presales solution consulting, solution architecture, or technical consulting
• Minimum 3 years focused on enterprise AI architecture
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field

• Hands-on modern AI experience (RAG, agentic systems, MCP, model selection/evaluation) and enterprise data architecture
• Ability to write clean code for API interaction and perform technical testing
• Knowledge of AI governance (NIST, ISO 42001, EU AI Act) and security risks
