Overview
In this role you will lead and deliver water resources and integrated water management projects within Arcadis’ Climate Adaptation team. You will guide technical work packages, support multidisciplinary commissions, and help grow the water management offering while mentoring junior colleagues. You will work with a broad client base across public and private sectors to tackle water resource challenges, sustainability, and climate resilience. This is a chance to shape innovative, nature-based solutions and deliver high-impact outcomes for water environments.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership on water resource and integrated water management projects
- Undertake and review water resource assessments, water balance studies and water availability investigations
- Support delivery of Water Cycle Studies, Water Resource Management Plans and water supply strategy projects
- Lead the technical delivery of abstraction licence applications, water environment permitting and regulatory submissions
- Provide technical input to Environmental Impact Assessments, Strategic Environmental Assessments and Water Framework Directive assessments
- Support low-flow assessments, water quality studies and Water Framework Directive assessments as required
- Support climate resilience, drought resilience and sustainable water management studies
- Contribute to WINEP investigations and future AMP planning opportunities for regulatory insight
- Develop innovative and nature-based solutions to water resource and environmental challenges
- Manage project tasks and budgets, ensure quality and resource management
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and collaborate across Arcadis for integrated solutions
- Build and maintain client relationships and support business development, bids and fee estimates
- Provide technical review and QA of reports and deliverables
- Mentor junior team members and promote technical excellence
- Support wider team with health and safety, knowledge sharing and operational activities
- Champion innovation, digital solutions and best practice in water resources
- Contribute to capability statements and technical submissions for clients and frameworks
Key requirements
- Degree in a relevant discipline and demonstrable experience delivering UK water resource projects
- Strong understanding of water resource assessment methodologies, water balances and integrated water management
- Experience leading technical tasks or work packages with project management support
- Proven technical report writing and ability to communicate complex information
- Experience applying QA procedures and delivering high-quality outputs
- Ability to interpret GIS outputs and spatial information for water resources and environmental assessments
