As a Senior Design Engineer, you will design and develop electric actuation systems from concept to qualification within a collaborative aerospace team. Responsibilities
- Generate innovative design concepts for electro-mechanical actuation systems
- Support the complete design lifecycle from requirements through qualification
- Develop robust, lightweight, cost-effective engineering solutions
- Produce manufacturing data packages, drawings, and tolerance analyses
- Lead and support detailed design activities within multidisciplinary teams
- Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and in-service requirements
- Support system integration and installation activities for actuation systems
- Conduct design reviews and present technical information to stakeholders
- Assist with risk identification, mitigation, and design assurance
- Investigate product issues during development, qualification, production and service
- Support failure investigations and corrective action programmes
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and students
- Support technology roadmap development and capability growth
- Collaborate with global teams to share best practices and drive improvement
- Support customer engagement and new business opportunities
Key requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering qualification
- Demonstrated design engineering experience
- Strong understanding of machine design and electro-mechanical development
- Experience across product lifecycle for mechanical or electro-mechanical systems
- Proven problem-solving and analytical skills
- Experience supporting technical investigations and root cause analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
- Strong organizational and planning skills with attention to detail
