Overview

In this Senior Manager role, you will lead and oversee trusts and estates administration and private client tax work for a leading accountancy firm in Eastbourne. You will work closely with the T&E Partner and Tax Partner to ensure accurate trust accounts, tax returns, and compliance with ICAEW regulations, while mentoring colleagues. The position offers a collaborative environment with professional growth and a strong client-service focus. You will shape complex tax advice and governance on estate and trust matters, contributing to high-quality private client service.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare trust accounts, tax returns, and IHT forms
  • Advise clients on tax and legal implications of creating trusts and appointments
  • Manage trust administration including TRS, CRS, and FATCA
  • Review trust tax returns and accounts and provide feedback/training
  • Report estates to the T&E Partner as needed and act as AI alongside the T&E Partner
  • Provide fee quotes and monitor monthly to comply with ICAEW price and service transparency
  • Prepare accounts, tax returns, and IHT forms for estates and related documents
  • Ensure compliance with ICAEW probate regulations and flag potential contentious matters
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on estate-related topics
  • Support T&E and Tax Partners with technical tax research and drafting of reports/letters

Key requirements

  • Experience in Trusts & Estates within an accountancy practice or professional services
  • Understanding of inheritance tax, capital gains tax, and related tax laws
  • Knowledge of trust administration, estate planning, and succession planning
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients and colleagues
  • Professional qualifications such as STEP or ACCA/ACA/CTA
