Senior Commercial Counsel, Oral Health

Overview

In this role you will be the primary legal partner for Haleon’s Oral Health category, delivering practical guidance across advertising, claims, regulatory, and commercial matters to support category growth. You will collaborate with global and local legal teams and cross-functional partners to ensure compliant, business-friendly solutions for leading brands like Sensodyne and Aquafresh. You will shape legal strategies for product development, marketing, and corporate communications in a fast-paced environment. This position offers a chance to influence global brand outcomes and strengthen Haleon’s category leadership within a world-class legal function.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal advice to OH category teams and local lawyers to enable timely, practical solutions
• Deliver claims support for strategic projects and manage approvals
• Provide guidance on local advertising law challenges balancing risk and business aims
• Lead contractual support for OH-specific matters ensuring commercial objectives with robust protections
• Develop and maintain toolkits and trackers to harmonise legal support across teams
• Monitor relevant legislation and communicate updates to ensure compliance and readiness
• Serve as first point of contact for ad hoc on-the-ground legal support for OH
• Collaborate with Global Category Legal Lead OH to standardise legal approaches across markets
• Advise on general corporate affairs and public policy for global brands
• Foster relationships with local legal teams and cross-functional partners to support category priorities

Key requirements

• Extensive in-house legal experience in Advertising/Marketing, Commercial Transactions, Consumer Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals and/or Consumer Packaged Goods
• Ability to learn rapidly and develop solutions in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills with ability to translate legal concepts into practical business advice
• Strong accountability, judgment, and ownership of projects to deliver business results
• Strong negotiation and drafting skills
• Detail-oriented yet pragmatic problem-solving approach
• High energy and motivation to stay current with legal developments and contribute to the Legal Compliance & Company Secretariat department
