Overview
As Associate Director in Grant Thornton’s Modelling team, you lead complex financial modelling projects across advisory services, engaging with clients and other advisory teams. You plan, develop and review models aligned to transactions, strategic decisions, restructurings and valuations. You’ll mentor juniors, manage budgets and risk, and help win new opportunities. Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day modelling assignments and maintain client relationships
- Autonomously execute and review modelling work with expertise
- Plan, develop, and tailor financial models and tools for clients
- Review client and adviser models, providing initial findings
- Update models to support valuations, insolvency or forensics deliverables
- Review junior modelling work for technical excellence and brand compliance
- Explain model results and discuss implications with clients and colleagues
- Prepare model specifications and user guides to a high standard
- Manage risk on assignments, including engagement letters
- Lead pursuit activities for new opportunities and draft proposals
- Contribute to marketing efforts and client-facing presentations
- Support cross-team reports (Due Diligence, Corporate Finance, Restructuring)
- Manage team time and budgets, and mentor junior members
- Contribute to team operations and collaboration
Key requirements
- Experience in a directly comparable Big 4 or similar modelling team
- Currently holding a senior manager or equivalent grade
- Excellent Excel proficiency with advanced techniques
- Strong understanding of modelling best practices
- Highly numerate with strong communication skills
- Logical problem-solving approach and attention to detail
- Track record of collaboration with clients and colleagues
- Strong accounting skills and understanding of cash and working capital cycles
- Degree level education, preferably numerate
