Overview

In this role you support SZC project quality requirements across the full lifecycle, helping ensure safe, compliant delivery of a major low-carbon energy project. You will shape QA/QC arrangements, drive documentation and project quality plans, and monitor supplier quality within a complex supply chain. You collaborate with internal teams and contractors to mitigate quality risks and enable timely problem resolution. This is a chance to contribute to a landmark nuclear project and the UK’s climate and energy agenda. You will work in a safety-critical environment where quality is central to success.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and develop QA/QC arrangements and Project Quality Control Plans (PQCPs) for contracts
  • Produce and maintain quality documentation (procedures, specifications) and support the Quality execution plan
  • Define supplier quality requirements in ITT documentation and ensure QA processes across the supply chain
  • Review and monitor Contractor Quality Assurance Plans (CQAPs); provide guidance to contractors
  • Identify and coordinate supply chain audits; track findings and drive corrective actions
  • Foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including contracted inspection entities
  • Identify quality issues early to enable timely mitigation
  • Coordinate construction surveillance activities and review ITPs for fit-for-purpose distribution
  • Assist LTQR deployment (GQAS, LTQR Specification, Quality Release Certificates) and LTQR reviews
  • Support review and acceptance of contractor-provided construction documentation and close-out activities
  • Monitor and resolve non-conformances and track corrective actions; review end-of-construction/status reports

Key requirements

  • HNC/HND qualification or degree in a relevant science or engineering subject
  • Experience implementing quality-related solutions
  • Proven track record in a quality assurance/control environment within the nuclear or safety-critical industry
  • Experience interacting with diverse stakeholders in a multi-cultural environment
