Overview
In this role you will support the People & Culture team by providing expert HR guidance across the full employee lifecycle. You will partner with the HR Business Partner to ensure HR best practice and employment law compliance, while promoting a positive workplace culture. You’ll handle employee relations matters, absence issues, and policy updates, contributing to the people strategy. Responsibilities
- Deliver a professional, customer-focused HR advisory service across the employee lifecycle
- Advise managers on policies, procedures, employee relations, probation, performance, and absence issues
- Manage a varied employee relations caseload with legally compliant solutions
- Inform the HR Business Partner of trends, risks, and case updates with recommended actions
- Review, update, and communicate HR policies and procedures
- Monitor absence records, welfare meetings, and Occupational Health referrals
- Provide day-to-day HR administration (contracts, records, inbox) and respond to queries
- Support the HR Coordinator with administration of family-friendly policies
- Maintain accurate employee records in HR and time management systems
- Produce regular KPI and management information reports
- Attend daily operational and factory review meetings
- Coordinate employee engagement initiatives (recognition, forums, surveys, communications)
- Contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives
Key requirements
- Experience as an HR Advisor or HR Generalist
- CIPD Level 3 or actively working towards it
- Strong employee relations experience, including complex cases
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all levels
- Customer-focused approach with practical HR advice
- Strong organisational skills with multi-priority management in fast-paced environments
- Good IT skills, especially Excel (intermediate advantageous)
- Experience with HRIS and Time & Attendance systems beneficial
- Additional European language skills advantageous
