Junior Discretionary Trader

Overview

As a Junior Discretionary Trader you will work closely with senior traders and quantitative researchers to learn on the desk, maintain target portfolio positions, and hedge risk across multiple asset classes. You’ll contribute to portfolio monitoring, risk reporting, and the evaluation of new trading ideas using a world-class research platform. This role combines hands-on trading with mentorship, offering exposure to discretionary and systematic strategies and the chance to develop your risk management and execution skills. A strong collaboration mindset and curiosity for markets will help you grow in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior traders and quantitative researchers to structure and evaluate new trading opportunities
• Generate PnL tracking and attribution reports based on trade ideas
• Monitor and analyze portfolio performance to generate risk reports
• Hedge books and allocate hedges appropriately
• Execute large or complex trades that require discretion due to complexity or liquidity constraints

Key requirements

• Recent or soon-to-be graduate with relevant coursework, internship, or experience
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, Physics, Economics, or Finance
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with global teammates
• Strong sense of urgency and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
• Programming skills with at least one major language; strong preference for Python
