Overview

As an HR Advisor in a collaborative HR team, you will provide practical guidance across the employee lifecycle—from relations and performance to payroll and training. You’ll support payroll, benefits, and HR analytics while contributing to best-practice policies and continuous improvement initiatives. The role balances hands-on delivery with stakeholder management in a regulated, professional services environment. Responsibilities

  • Advise managers on employee relations matters including performance, absence management, and family-friendly policies
  • Support performance management processes: probation reviews, objective setting, and PI plans
  • Coordinate end-to-end recruitment with agencies, postings, onboarding and inductions
  • Prepare documentation for promotions, salary changes, job title changes, and lifecycle updates
  • Generate monthly/quarterly HR reports (headcount, turnover, recruitment costs, remuneration)
  • Assist payroll and benefits administration (employee changes, pension letters, record updates)
  • Maintain accurate employee records, HR systems, and organisation charts
  • Coordinate internal and external training (bookings, attendance, qualifications)
  • Review/update HR policies, job descriptions, and supporting docs
  • Monitor HR inbox to provide timely support to staff and managers
  • Contribute to HR projects and remuneration process initiatives

Key requirements

  • Experience in an HR Advisor or generalist role
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Experience managing employee relations matters independently
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to manage competing priorities
  • Experience in financial services or regulated environments preferred
