Overview
In this Planning Manager role, you drive the evaluation of sites for residential development by applying current planning policies. You will lead the end-to-end planning permission process for residential schemes, coordinating architects and consultants and negotiating with planning authorities. You’ll also handle post-permission amendments, appeals, and monitoring of development plans and housing supply to identify opportunities. This is a chance to shape delivery in the South East within a focused, private development context.
Responsibilities
- Carry out planning appraisals to assess site suitability for immediate and strategic residential development
- Lead planning permission delivery, including appointing and coordinating architects/consultants
- Submit and negotiate applications, liaise with planning officers, and discharge planning conditions
- Submit non-material amendments (s96a) and minor-material amendments (s73)
- Manage planning appeals
- Monitor development plans and draft representations to support business interests
- Monitor 5-year housing supply positions and identify opportunities in areas of shortfall
Key requirements
- Minimum of 2 years post-qualification private sector experience in residential planning
- Degree in Town Planning with MRTPI accreditation
- Full driving licence with car
- Experience with residential developers or residential planning teams
