Overview

In this role, you lead the Structural Engineering group within Stantec’s Water offices, guiding technical delivery and cross-office collaboration. You’ll shape team capabilities, mentor staff, and ensure projects meet budget, schedule, and quality targets. You’ll work hands-on with state-of-the-art techniques and travel regularly to engage regional teams. This is a strategic, client-facing leadership position that drives growth and technical excellence in water-related structures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and line management for the Structural Team across the region
  • Deliver structural design expertise for water-related projects using advanced techniques
  • Coordinate with Pune for better collaboration and scale
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to high quality standards
  • Influence stakeholders through strong technical knowledge and communication
  • Plan and coordinate resources with group managers
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of design, survey, drafting, and contract management standards
  • Liaise with internal and external clients to build trust in the team’s capabilities
  • Provide technical training and mentorship to staff
  • Review and check peers’ work and focus on priorities
  • Support ongoing development and mentoring of regional team members
  • Build relationships with new clients and key stakeholders
  • Adopt a hands-on approach to project delivery

Key requirements

  • Chartered member of a relevant engineering institution (e.g., IStructE, ICE) with hands-on experience in structural engineering and water-related projects
  • Degree qualified in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related subject with knowledge of water retaining structures
  • Experience in managing and mentoring junior staff
  • Experience overseeing project budgets and timelines for structural elements
  • Ability to prepare and review technical documents, reports and proposals
