Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver environmental assessment and planning projects (EIS, SSI, SSD, MID, REFs)
- Mentor and develop a team of environmental professionals
- Coordinate across multidisciplinary teams to secure environmental approvals
- Develop and sustain client relationships as primary project contact
- Support work-winning and fee proposals
- Collaborate with leadership and specialists to ensure best-practice environmental outcomes
- Represent the organization at industry forums and client meetings as a technical leader
- Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, policies, and ethical standards
- Prepare and review submissions, permits, and impact documentation
- Liaise with regulatory authorities to achieve timely approvals
Key requirements
- Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Urban Planning, Ecology, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in environmental planning and approvals
- Experience leading projects in environmental impact assessment, especially in the WA resources sector
- Knowledge of Australian environmental legislation and policy frameworks
- Extensive project management experience delivering complex, multi-stakeholder projects on time and within budget
- Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to present to diverse audiences
- Strong business development and client interfacing experience
- Familiarity with GIS, data analysis or digital tools (advantageous)
