Overview

As IT Project Manager you will lead medium-scale technology projects within the Tech team to deliver tangible outcomes for customers and the business. You will manage scope, budgets, risks and benefits, coordinating diverse teams and partners to drive sustainable change. This role supports Yorkshire Water’s mission to provide reliable services while prioritising environment and customer needs. Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end medium-scale IT projects to deliver scope, time, cost and quality
  • Define scope, objectives, deliverables, plans and governance with sponsors/business owners
  • Manage budgets, forecasts and financial reporting to inform investment decisions
  • Identify and manage risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies and change
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and external partners across delivery streams
  • Maintain accurate project plans, reports and documentation for visibility
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and enable timely decision-making
  • Embed quality management and formal acceptance of deliverables
  • Define and track benefits realisation aligned to the business case
  • Coordinate resources and resolve competing priorities in delivery
  • Promote consistent delivery standards and share learning across the PM community

Key requirements

  • Proven experience delivering medium-scale IT or technology-enabled projects from initiation to handover
  • Strong governance, planning and control experience including scope/schedule/change/quality
  • Practical financial management experience (budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking)
  • Experience identifying and managing risks, issues and dependencies in complex environments
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills with senior stakeholders
  • Ability to translate complex delivery information into clear reports and decisions
  • Experience defining, tracking and supporting benefits realisation against a business case
  • PM qualification such as PRINCE2, APM, PMP or Agile certification
  • Experience delivering security or cyber security projects
