Overview
In this role you lead mechanical design on transformational water sector programmes, guiding a team to deliver compliant, high-quality solutions. You’ll work with cross‑functional UK and overseas teams to produce integrated designs, briefs, and bid inputs while managing time and budgets. Your expertise ensures adherence to QA standards and safe, compliant designs across major infrastructure projects. This is a senior, impact‑driven position in a collaborative, expertise‑led environment that values responsibility and growth.
Responsibilities
- Lead a design team to deliver mechanical designs to standards and codes
- Prepare briefs, scopes of work, and contribute to bid proposals
- Manage project time and budgets to milestones
- Collaborate with UK and overseas teams for integrated design solutions
- Adhere to quality assurance standards in design
Key requirements
- Chartered Mechanical Engineer
- Experience leading design delivery in the water sector including multidisciplinary design
- Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment (pumps, blowers, screens, dosing plant) and UK design standards
- Understanding of CDM and ATEX legislation
