Overview

In this role you lead a high-profile portfolio focused on asylum, refugee and resettlement work, as well as inclusion and community cohesion. You will unite cross-organisational partners to shape local responses, oversee plans, risks and funding, and adapt to national policy changes. The post offers opportunities to make a tangible difference in Plymouth’s communities through collaborative, trusted leadership. Responsibilities

  • lead a broad portfolio including resettlement, asylum dispersal, integration, and community cohesion
  • engage partners across organisations to align plans and actions
  • develop clear project plans, manage risks, and oversee funded and commissioned activity
  • support the Council’s response to changing national policy
  • engage with and respond to Gypsy Roma Traveller engagement and unauthorised encampments

Key requirements

  • experience of asylum, refugee or resettlement policy and working with this cohort
  • experienced programme leader capable of cross-boundary collaboration
