Stores Operative

Overview

In this role you will support production by managing goods inwards and stock handling within a growing aerospace manufacturing environment. You will work closely with the Logistics Manager to ensure accurate receipt, storage and movement of materials, enabling efficient production flow. You will keep the stores area tidy, safe and well-organised while monitoring stock accuracy and resolving issues with the purchasing team. This is a hands-on, process-driven role in a collaborative team that values reliability and attention to detail, with a clear path to contribute to increasing manufacturing activity.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect and store incoming goods via Goods Inwards
• Process goods receipt documents and resolve booking-in issues with purchasing
• Deliver non-stock orders to the correct recipients
• Label, pack and store stock to prevent contamination or misidentification
• Pick work orders from picking lists with high accuracy
• Carry out loading, unloading, sorting, cleaning and stock movements in stores
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised stores area and yard
• Monitor stock accuracy and report discrepancies to the Logistics Manager; support packaging waste management

Key requirements

• Proven experience as a Stores Operative in a manufacturing environment
• Basic computer literacy and numeracy
• Basic Microsoft Excel skills (data tables)
• Understanding of ERP or MRP systems for inventory movements
• Knowledge of goods-in processes and stock control procedures
• Ability to follow manual handling guidelines and use lifting equipment
• Strong attention to detail, organisation and accuracy
• Forklift licence and experience in Goods-In Quality Inspection (advantage)
