Overview

As Children’s Registered Manager, you will lead the setup of two new residential homes in Birmingham and ensure high-quality, compliant care for young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties. You will work with a small, values-driven team to uphold Ofsted standards and national regulations while shaping service growth and diversification. You’ll assess practices, foster a safe environment for staff and families, and drive continuous improvement. Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with legislation and Ofsted National Minimum Standards
  • Provide high-quality, dependable care aligned to organisational values
  • Regularly assess practices and culture; propose changes
  • Maintain a safe, structured environment for staff and families
  • Contribute to service diversification and centre development
  • Line manage Deputy Managers and care staff
  • Promote quality service through strong staff management
  • Create an environment with the highest care standards

Key requirements

  • 2 years in the last 5 in a managerial role in a children’s residential care setting (ideally Registered Manager)
  • Experience with young people with emotional/behavioural difficulties and complex behaviours
  • Level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent
  • Willingness to complete Level 5 in Leadership and Management
  • Thorough knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulation 2015 and Care Standards Act 2000
