Overview

As an EMEA Payroll Specialist, you ensure accurate and timely salary payments across multiple European sites in partnership with our payroll provider. You will navigate country-specific regulations and handle payroll data, leave records, and premium payments while maintaining clear communication with employees. The role sits within HR and supports the broader Lonza mission by enabling compliant, smooth payroll operations. You will engage with cross-functional teams and drive data integrity in a hybrid work environment, delivering reliable payroll services.

Responsibilities

  • Process accurate salaries for Lonza employees in EMEA with third-party payroll provider
  • Coordinate payroll data and validate information for multiple European regions
  • Calculate overtime, premiums, and compliance with country regulations (taxes, social security)
  • Maintain payroll records including sick leave and vacation accruals
  • Communicate payroll matters with employees at all levels and troubleshoot issues
  • Collect payroll and benefits information and provide monthly instructions to the provider

Key requirements

  • Strong payroll experience with exposure to European entities
  • Excellent organizational and written/verbal communication skills

  • Proficient in Excel (VLOOKUPs and PivotTables)
