Overview

As the Steam Turbine Technical Field Authority, you will shape Sulzer’s steam turbine offering across the UK. You’ll work closely with customers and service centres to guide inspections, diagnostics, and repair strategies, driving high-impact projects from overhauls to performance improvements. You will act as the technical go‑to authority, ensuring standards and best practices are followed across multiple teams. This role combines hands-on engineering with customer-facing leadership to advance Sulzer’s turbine capability and market competitiveness. Your impact spans technical direction, risk assessment, and continuous improvement to deliver reliable, efficient turbine services.

Responsibilities

  • Act as technical lead for inspections, diagnosis, and repair recommendations at customer sites across the UK
  • Provide expert guidance to Sulzer Service Centres nationwide to align on engineering standards and best practices
  • Support delivery of complex projects from major overhauls to rotor balancing and performance improvements
  • Interface with customers on condition, risk, repair options, and project planning
  • Drive continuous improvement with engineering, operations, and field service teams to enhance turbine offering and competitiveness
  • Coordinate across multiple teams to serve as the go-to authority for steam turbine matters

Key requirements

  • Strong background in Steam Turbine engineering, especially in field service, overhauls, or rotating equipment
  • Experience in site-based inspections, fault-finding, and technical assessment
  • Confidence engaging with customers to scope, advise, and lead technically
  • Ability to act as a technical authority across teams
  • Passion for engineering excellence, problem-solving, and continuous improvement
